Bloom

Smart Set Flowered Shirt (available here, same print available in bomber format), Zara Blazer, Paige Denim, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, Aldo Pumps, Gorjana Necklace and Ring, Banana Republic Leather Bow Bracelet, H&M Bracelet, Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses

I have to give credit to Kate for alerting me of the presence of this gorgeous flowered print available at Smart Set. She linked me to Smart Set's newest lookbook, and it was love. I knew I needed that flowered print in my life. We don't have much in terms of shopping where I live, but we do have a Smart Set store! I tried both this top, and the bomber, but settled for the top. I can see myself wearing it with so many things, dressed up, or down - cut off denim shorts, tucked into a pencil skirt, with black skinnies, with a jean jacket... the possibilities are endless! If you're looking to add a little color to your wardrobe this Spring, this print is definitely a reasonably priced option. And it's $10 off right now!

Goodbye Tartan

Smart Set Tartan Pants, American Eagle Sweater, Zara Jacket (similar one), J Crew Bag, Calvin Klein Pumps, Joe Fresh Necklace, Forever 21 Bangle, House of Harlow Sunnies

Good morning friends!

As much as I am 100% ready to welcome Spring into my life, I will be a little sad to see my tartan items put away until the fall. I found these tartan pants at Smart Set on super clearance, and told myself I'd save them for next year (tartan never goes out of style!) but couldn't resist wearing them just once before it's too late.

Hope you all had a good weekend! I spent my Saturday helping my sister sort through her closet. She just got a new job and wants to look more professional - her previous place of employment was very casual. Let me tell you, it was SO fun playing personal stylist! We ended up at Target where she found a great pair of black cropped skinnies - a true staple in my closet. On Sunday, I cleaned up the place a bit and made soup, and waffles! How was your weekend?

Casual Leather

Asos Leather Jacket, Smart Set Sweater, Joe's Jeans Boyfriend Denim, H&M Necklace and Bracelet, Michael Kors Watch, Rebecca Minkoff MAC Mini, Aldo pumps, D&G Sunnies

I told you this leather jacket would come in handy! While it is way too cold to wear it now, in only a few short weeks, I'll hopefully be breaking this baby out for good, and wearing it with everything!

I have also been waiting to break out these jeans for a while! I bought them in the dead of winter, knowing that since they are so thin and have holes in them, I wouldn't be able to wear them for a long long time. FYI, my fly isn't unzipped even though it looks like it might be! These jeans are going to be absolutely perfect for summer - they're so thin and comfy! I can't wait to wear them with a tank, and my Sperrys. We're almost there my Canadian (and cold weather dweller) friends!

Casual Stripes

J Crew Shirt, Vince Denim, Marc Fisher Shoes, Rebecca Minkoff Tote, Asos Sunnies, Bauble Bar and H&M Necklaces, Forever 21 Cuff

Happy Monday friends! And Happy Saint Patrick's day too!

I'm a little more awake than usual this Monday, because I accidentally overslept a full hour! As much as I didn't enjoy scrambling to get to work this morning, it was nice to get an extra hour in and I'm feeling pretty rested. If work started at 9am instead of 8am, I'd totally be more productive!

Today's look is quite simple - a striped tee, black denim and brightly colored shoes. I had my heart set on this J Crew tee the moment I saw it and was lucky enough to pick it up in one of their sales. I get the feeling this top is going to get a ton of wear!

Quilts Etc. Home Republic Bedding - A Review of the Camden Check

To be completely honest, I'm really not a fan of my bedroom set. It was handed down to us from my boyfriend's godmother, and at the time, it seemed foolish to get rid of it simply because we (read, I) didn't love it. We had just started living together and we needed to buy so many things before a bedroom set could be a reality. Well, 2 years later, we're still with the same bed set. We've waited so long to replace it that it seems like we might as well wait until we move again. One of the things I do have control over in this bedroom however, are bed linen. I'm obsessed. I love clean fresh sheets, cozy duvets, pillows, throws... anything! An easy way to make a bedroom look more alive is by adding an accent duvet, so when the folks at Quilts Etc asked me to review a duvet set from their new Home Republic line, I jumped at the chance to make my room feel fresh again. I chose the Camden Check Collection, and I absolutely love it. My boyfriend is quite indifferent to anything I introduce to our place. Pillows? What's the purpose! Throws? It looks like someone's been sleeping on our couch! (That's seriously his argument) But to this duvet set, his reaction was an immediate "I love it!" Shocking, I know, but I was pretty happy to get a positive reaction from him! Even his buddies commented on how nice it was. Hence why I added a nice baby pink pillow to the bed - I needed to girl it up somehow with all this enthusiasm from the boys!

To me, a duvet needs to be soft and cozy - I spend a lot of time propped up on pillows, reading or blogging from the bed. I've had the experience of washing a duvet cover in the past for the first time and having it feel all stiff - my Camden Check bedding came out of the washer and dryer fluffy and soft. And I love the little touches that makes this duvet unique - the piped edges, the crisp gingham, the hidden zipper openings. I also love that the pillows and duvet have different sized gingham on each side. And we all know that navy gingham will never go out of style!

If you're looking to refresh your bedroom, I highly suggest you check out the Home Republic line at Quilts Etc. I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality of this duvet set. It is available on the Quilts Etc website, but if this particular duvet isn't your style, there are plenty of other gorgeous options to choose from. I'm smitten with some of their floral print duvet set (such as this one, or this one) but I doubt my boyfriend would love it. No worries, I'll convert him in time!

Thank you to Quilts Etc. for letting me review this gorgeous duvet set!

A Jean Story

H&M Denim Jacket, J Crew Blythe Blouse, Joe Fresh Pants, Banana Republic Belt, Kelsi Dagger Pumps, Forever 21 Bangle, Michael Kors Watch, House of Harlow Sunnies

I'm sure a lot of you can relate on how hard it is to find that perfect denim jacket. Lucky for me, this year, I didn't have to search too hard! H&M have quite a good selection of denim jacket which is where I picked up this one. And they all have a smidge of stretch in them! If you're on the hunt for a jean jacket for Spring, definitely take a look at H&M selection - I'm absolutely smitten with mine.

Friends, it's freaking Snowmaggedon here. Goodbye snow-free sidewalks and roads. Hello again ice and slush. Sigh.

Reflection

J Crew Blazer, W118 by Walter Baker Skirt, American Eagle Sweater, Rebecca Minkoff MAB Tote, Michael Kors Boots, BaubleBar Necklace, Michael Kors Watch, Joe Fresh Sunnies

While I was dreaming of sandals and mini-skirts in anticipation for summer, another snow storm was brewing. That's right, we're not done with winter yet Maritimers, we still have 20-30 up to 40!! centimeters of snow to go! Sigh. Fingers crossed it melts really fast - or even better, it melts as it falls!

I actually took these pictures with Kate a few weeks ago, but just got around to posting them! In line with the flash lens trend, I purchased these Joe Fresh a few days before the pictures, and they broke shortly after! It was totally my fault - I crushed them when they were in my coat - but I'm going to have to find a replacement. My obsession has shifted to these copper colored sunnies, and these silvery blue ones. However, this past weekend, I took the plunge and got a classic pair of Ray-Ban aviators so I should probably wait a bit before purchasing another pair. Should being the key word here.

Tough Flowers

Asos Leather Jacket (still available in UK sz 6 - I'm wearing an 8 for reference, and it's roomy), Zara Dress, Marc Fisher Booties, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, H&M Bracelet, Michael Kors Watch, Joe Fresh Necklace and Sunnies

The first thing I wanted to do when I received this leather jacket was to pair it with florals. There's something so magical about leather and florals - the perfect balance between feminine and tough! I was mild enough (for one day!) this weekend to wear it, but given that another snow storm is coming our way, I'm going to reluctantly put it back in the closet for when Spring arrives. Leather jacket, I'll wait for you. And I get the feeling that it will be worn a LOT when the weather allows.

On another note, my little sister took these pictures for me this weekend, and I thought I'd mention that she started a photography blog! It's in its early stages, but I'm so happy she found an outlet for her creativity. You can check out her blog here.

Happy Monday friends. Hope Daylight Savings Time disorient you too much. I'm just excited about the prospect of having some light after work!
